About Us
Hi - I'm Ram, and I welcome you to Audesine. Over the years, loudspeaker design has grown into an increasingly mature, scientific field, although one cannot deny that it will always remain partially an art form as long as you choose to display your speakers in your home!
After drifting about for nearly two decades as a cog in the wheels of the IT industry, I decided to launch Audesine to address the needs of the loudspeaker manufacturer, audiophile and DIYer who need specialized services for loudspeaker system design. More about me and my past at LinkedIn.
Why Audesine
First off, Audesine is not a whole bunch of people. I confess: it's just a one-man show, so you can replace the "we" all over this website with "I". Briefly put, I'm a scientist at heart rather than a marketing wizard or "snake oil" merchant. My advice is limited to that which is scientifically justifiable, verifiable and repeatable. I avoid giving my customers subjective opinions (though I am happy to provide them with enough data as well as subjective opinions from other sources to help them take their own subjective decisions!)
My Tools
Put the best tools in the hands of an amateur and you will get sophisticated garbage. Loudspeaker design is a quantitative science, and I have do not believe that merely possessing the most sophisticated tools can do the job well.
My design approach is rooted in a sound knowledge of math and physics, supported by 
- one of the industry's most sophisticated enclosure/crossover analysis and simulation packages, and embellished with a healthy dose of common sense. I use PC-based instrumentation as well as traditional instruments such as the venerated Tektronix AA501/SG505 ultra-low distortion measurement suite. The bottomline is that you get sensible, usable results, apart from friendly, patient answers to all your questions.
